Privacy and Cookie Policy
Privacy and Cookie Policy
HelloDeco.co.uk (hereinafter: 'we', 'us' or 'HelloDeco') respects the privacy of visitors and users of its websites, as well as the privacy of its customers who place an order via our (affiliated) website(s) (hereinafter: website). This policy sets out what information we collect from you as a customer in the context of your use of our websites, and how we use and protect this information.
1. Applicability
This Privacy and Cookie Policy applies to every website visit, transaction and agreement concluded via a website. All information, including your personal data, that we collect about you during your visit and/or use of our website will be processed in accordance with this Policy, the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. This Privacy and Cookie Policy does not apply to websites of other companies that contain a link to our website or to which a link on our website refers.
2. Data we collect
HelloDeco enables you to have personalised photo products made online, such as a photo on canvas or photo on wood, and to have your order delivered to an address of your choice. In the context of our services, we may collect your data in two ways:
Data provided by you HelloDeco collects data provided by you, such as your email address and password when you register as a new customer and create an account. We also collect your order details such as your name, (delivery and billing) address, telephone number and payment details when you place an order with us (and, if the order is to be sent to someone else, the name and address details of the recipient), together with files such as the photos you upload and/or use in or on our products. Your email address is used to send you confirmation of your order. Personal data is also collected when you participate in our competitions or when you share your opinion with us, for example by writing a review about our product. In addition to creating an account, we may also collect your email address separately when you sign up for our newsletter via the website.
Data we collect automatically HelloDeco also collects data that we receive based on your use of our services, your visit to our website and any other websites accessible from our website. For example, we collect your IP address and the type of browser you use, as well as the pages you visit, the date and time of your visit or use, and how you use our website.
3. How do we use your data?
Your data may be used for the following purposes:
Acceptance, processing and fulfilment of your order Your data is used to process, fulfil, produce and deliver your order to the address you have chosen. We will also use your data to keep you informed of the progress of your order. We pass your data on to other companies that carry out certain services on our behalf. Examples include: a third party engaged by us to produce your order; a carrier such as DHL to ship and deliver your order; online payment service providers such as MultiSafepay or PayPal to process your payment; service providers to send our emails or other forms of customer communication; marketing analytics companies to analyse our data or remove duplicate entries from our database; and to provide our customer service.
Managing your account You can create your own account on our website. In this account we store, among other things, your name, (delivery and billing) address, telephone number and email address. We also store information about your previous orders so that you can find, view, share or reorder your products more quickly.
Direct marketing, co-branded offers and newsletters We may use your data for direct marketing purposes to send you commercial information or offers about our products and services via email, direct mail, telephone (including SMS and push notifications) or other media. This information or these offers may also be compiled in a co-branded manner in collaboration with a partner or an affiliated company and will then include products or services from that third party.
You can sign up for our newsletter, which is sent by email or direct mail, to stay informed of special offers and our new or additional products and services. If you no longer wish to receive our commercial communications such as our newsletter, you can always let us know by contacting our customer service. For commercial emails, simply click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we will only send you direct marketing communications by email or SMS if you have given your consent, or if you are an existing customer and we are marketing similar products or services to those you have previously purchased, with a clear opportunity to opt out.
Reviews and comments We love hearing about your experiences with our website and our products. For writing customer reviews about a HelloDeco product, we use third parties such as Feedbackcompany. If you wish to write a review about our product, Feedbackcompany will collect personal data about you. For an overview of what personal data is collected and how Feedbackcompany handles this, please visit: https://www.feedbackcompany.com/privacy-policy/.
If you give us a review, for example via a third party such as Feedbackcompany, social media or our customer service, we may use such a review (or part of it) for any purpose, provided that we will not use your review in combination with your name or other personal data. Only with your prior and explicit consent will we use your review (or part of it) together with your name (or other personal data) that you have provided to us.
Promotional activities and competitions If you participate in a promotional activity or competition, we will ask for your name, address, telephone number or email address, and you may also share other material such as photos. We use this data to run the promotional activity or competition, to notify the winner(s) that they have won, and, after obtaining consent, to announce the name(s) of the winner(s) via our website, newsletter and/or social media.
Maintenance, statistical analysis and improvement of our services We continuously strive to improve our services. We use analytical software from third parties, such as Google Analytics. With this analytical software we place cookies to track general visitor data and receive reports on how our services are used. In this context, we record data via the website such as your computer's IP address, the date and time of your visit or use, your browser, which products you view and design, and which editor features you use.
We may also use your data to ask whether you would like to participate in a non-binding customer or market research survey. Sometimes other companies carry out this research on our behalf. We will then provide such companies with your email address or telephone number, and they are of course also required to comply with this Privacy and Cookie Policy.
Fraud We use our customer data to investigate, prevent and combat fraud. If we are requested to provide access to our customer data on the basis of a legal obligation, for example in the context of a criminal investigation, we will comply and pass the requested data on to the relevant authority or law enforcement agency.
Improving our customer service To assist you quickly with any questions, our customer service uses your data such as your name and order number. Our customer service may take notes during a conversation with you to record why you contacted us and what solution we provided. Such customer service data is also retained by us, which is helpful if you contact us again in the future. If you contact our customer service by telephone, email or live chat, we may record and store the conversation for quality monitoring and training purposes. This helps us to analyse and improve our customer service.
International data transfers HelloDeco may engage third parties for the purposes set out above, whereby your personal data may be processed as part of your data. These partners, service providers or any other type of (sub-)processor engaged by them may be located in countries outside the United Kingdom. Where data is transferred to a country that does not provide an adequate level of protection as recognised under UK law, HelloDeco will only transfer the data if appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as required under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We store your data in accordance with the applicable statutory retention periods.
4. Transfer to third parties
We only make your data available to third parties as set out above, and solely for purposes as described in this Policy or compatible with it. Our employees and third parties engaged by us are obliged to observe the confidentiality of your data and the content of this Policy. HelloDeco will only provide your personal data to third parties if we have obtained your prior consent, are legally obliged to do so, or in the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganisation or similar event.
5. Security of your data
HelloDeco handles your data, which may include personal data, with the utmost care. We have implemented various technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss or unlawful use, in accordance with our obligations under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Every photo product and all images, photos or other uploaded content stored therein is secured by your unique email address and password. Other users cannot access the products you have created or the content stored therein without having both of these details. We therefore recommend that you choose your password carefully and do not share it with others.
