Photo on multiplex

When you order a photo on multiplex, also known as a photo on MDF or plywood, your photo is printed on one single wooden panel. This is the only wood type that does not consist of separate planks, so there are no seams in your photo. Multiplex also has very little texture. There are hardly any knots in the wood and you will only see a few fine lines. The colour of the wood is slightly warmer than with the other options. We therefore recommend adding a whitewash layer underneath your photo. In that case, several white paint layers are applied to your multiplex panel, making the photo appear brighter. Our multiplex panels can be made from different wood types: for example, you can choose a multiplex panel made from birch wood or poplar wood. Multiplex is very strong, lightweight and, above all, very affordable; multiplex is our budget favourite! An image on multiplex is available in many different sizes, but it is always 1 centimetre thick.

How do I have a photo printed on wood?

First, of course, you choose the photo you want to have printed on wood. Then you select the crop, the wood type and the position of the planks. Once you have completed the first step of the ordering process, you can choose from many different finishing options. First of all, you can choose to add a whitewash layer to your photo on wood. If you order a wood print with whitewash, which is highly recommended for photos with faces, the grain and knots become less visible. The white areas are printed as well, creating a high-resolution print with brighter colours. Because we apply several white paint layers to your multiplex panel in that case, the photo is printed more vividly. If you choose to have your photo printed on wood without whitewash, the white areas in your photo will not be printed. These areas will take on the colour of the wood, and the wood texture will show through more clearly. The grain and knots are more visible, the print becomes less sharp and also slightly darker. In addition to the whitewash finish, you can also choose to have your photo printed in black and white or sepia. It is possible to add text to your photo, so you can hang a photo and text on wood on your wall.
